Landscaping & Outdoor Living

Terraces, planting, irrigation and outdoor living — the part that finishes a villa.

A landscaped Maltese terrace garden with limestone paving, native planting and a harbour view

Outdoor space is where a Malta property is actually used for most of the year, and it is the part most often left until the money has run out. The irony is that the expensive elements are the ones that have to happen early — levels, drainage, irrigation and any structure — while the planting that people think of as landscaping is comparatively cheap and can wait.

Doing the buried work while the site is already open costs a fraction of retrofitting it through a finished terrace.

What this covers

What it costs

Landscaping is priced from the site, not from the property's floor area — the same villa can have a courtyard or a terraced hillside, and no per-square-metre figure covers both.

We do not publish a rate for this one. It is not priced per square metre in any way that would survive contact with a real property, and a number we cannot stand behind is worse than no number. It is quoted after the survey, itemised, before anything starts.

How it works

You deal with us, not with the trade. We survey, we quote a fixed price, we bring in the landscapers from the CheckYourTraders-verified network, and we manage the sequencing around every other trade on site. One point of contact, one contract, one invoice.

Questions people ask

Is landscaping in the budget calculator?
Not as landscaping. The calculator carries an external works line for villas above the Basic tier, which covers the hard external finishing rather than a full landscape scheme. Anything beyond that is quoted from the site.
What has to be decided early?
Levels, drainage, irrigation supply and any electrical runs. All of them are buried, all of them are cheap while the ground is open and expensive afterwards. Planting can genuinely wait.
Can you landscape around an existing pool?
Yes. Where it gets complicated is drainage and where the plant room sits, which is why it is worth looking at both together even if the work happens in stages.
